The News Isn't Good for Hunter Biden

Three additional Latham & Watkins LLP attorneys—Brian C. McManus, Timothy H. McCarten, and Matthew S. Salerno—withdrew from Hunter Biden's defense last week after lead attorney Chris Clark did.

The move states: “Brian C. McManus, counsel for the Defendant, Robert Hunter Biden, and respectfully requests this Honorable Court to withdraw all appearances for the law firm of Latham & Watkins LLP as counsel for the Defendant in the above-captioned matter.

The petition states that “Abbe David Lowell of Winston & Strawn LLP has appeared in the above-captioned case as counsel for Mr. Biden and will continue representing him in this matter through its conclusion.”

“M“Mr. Lowell is an accomplished defense lawyer and consents to this Motion.”

Special counsel David Weiss earlier indicated that Hunter Biden's advantageous plea offer was “withdrawn” and illegal.

Our departure has been informed to Mr. Biden, who agrees. He further agrees this withdrawal will not harm him and is comfortable with Messrs.

Lowell and Jones's representation of him, the paper states. Hunter Biden's lawyers argued that the plea deal's "diversion agreement" should remain.

They also claimed the government “reneged” on a “previously agreed-upon Plea Agreement.”
